If you would like to trade or sell, please email me -
I love meeting new people and I'm sure we can set something up!
If you have something on this list but want to hang onto it, I'd also be grateful for scans (so I can complete my database of images of these badges/insignia). Also, if anyone has a list of when our Canadian badges/insignia were issued/changed/discontinued, that would be very very useful too! :-)
Canada - Brownies (Brown triangles)
- Pathfinder (arrow)
- Provincial Heritage - any design which is not the spinning wheel, the PEI Ladyslipper, or the NS lighthouse
Canada - Brownies, Newer (1995-2004)
- Water (oval, water drops and waves, "WAGGGS")
Also, I'd love any of the oldest-style brownie badges, i.e., the brown triangles with "Girl Guides" written on them.
Canada - Brownie Six/Circle Emblems
- Six Emblems (Rectangular)
- Tylwyth Teg (red and white; top hat)
- Ghillie Dhu (scottish, red and green)
- Bwbachod (tan, has dairy stool)
- Djinn
- Dryads
- Nymphs
- Lares
- Circle Emblems (Round)
- I'm still missing the following:
- Dryads
- Fairies
- Lares
- Leprechauns
- Nymphs
- Pixies
Canada - Guides Interest Badges (Navy circles)
- Advanced Camper (light blue dome tent)
- Boatswain (anchor)
- Canoeist - Stern Paddler (Canoe side-on with one paddler, in stern)
- Canoe (Canoe with 2 people, side-on)
- Child Nurse? (Green cross)
- Dairy Worker (3-legged stool)
- Flower Arranger (with white flowers)
- Leatherworker (leather punch)
- Life Skills (house with compartments)
- Provincial Heritage - any design which is not the spinning wheel
- Sailing (sailboat)
- Spinner (distaff and spindle, yellow and green)
- + Any of the new badges that came out in September 2005, as follows:
- Body Works
- Career Awareness
- Chemistry
- Design Your Own Badge
- Design Your Own Space
- Faith Awareness
- Fashion
- Feeling Good
- Healthy Eating
- High On Life
- Needlework Skills
- Outdoors in the City
- Physics
- Plants and Animals
- Skiing/Snowboarding
I think that should be all for the plain navy badges... As for the
'old style' badges, i.e., the ones with borders and marked "Girl Guides", I need too many of them to list here.
Email me if you
have any for trade!
Canada - Guides Patrol Emblems
- Bluebird (with white belly and branch)
- Daisy
- Kingfisher
Canada - Guides Challenges and Emblems
- Anything from the current system, which was not in place when I was a Guide
- Older...! (50s - 60s)
- Second Class Badge (trefoil with 'Girl Guides')
- First Class (Red tie around 2nd Class badge)
- Woodcraft Emblem (pentagon, big tall tree, 'Girl Guides' at bottom)
Canada - Pathfinder
This would have been complete from my time as a Pathfinder, had they not gone and changed stuff after I left. Doh! :-)
So here's what I'm missing:
- Leadership emblems - silver and gold
- WAGGGS Water badge (diamond shape)
Canada - Ranger (Navy Hexagons, Red Border, Predominantly Red Embroidery)
I have 9 of the 16 old hexagonal Ranger badges and 2 of the corresponding pins. I'm missing these:
- Look Wide at Camping (tent, campfire)
- Look Wide at Community Concerns (city street)
- Look Wide at Our Future (atom)
- Look Wide at Health and Fitness (soccer cleat)
- Look Wide at International Concerns (globe)
- Look Wide at Leadership (big person with little person)
- Look Wide at Womens' Concerns (Female symbol)
- Look Wide 12 pin
- Look Wide 16 pin
Canada - Religion-in-Life Emblems
- Christian: green, blue
- Jewish: yellow, green, red
- Muslim: blue, red
- Hindu: yellow, blue, red
- yellow, green, blue and red of any other religion
Canada - Ties
- Ranger
- Old design, square (red border, red maple leaves)
- Old design, triangle (red border, red maple leaves)
- Cadet
- Old design, square (yellow border, yellow maple leaves)
- Junior Leader
- Old design, triangle (navy border, navy maple leaves)
- Newer design, triangle (navy with 2 white lines)
Canada - Pins
- Any older Ranger (Land, Air, Sea), Cadet, or Jr. Leader pins
Area/Division/District Patches
Of the roughly 1650 Canadian area/division/district patches identified so far, I have approximately 470. This means there are loads of patches out there that I don't have, so if you have Canadian patches, chances are there are some, most, or all that I don't have. I'm happy to trade for pretty much anything though! :-)
Special Request: If anyone has an extra Kinosoo District CFB Cold Lake
patch (the one with the CF-18 Fighter Jet on it), I would be forever grateful, as I had the best time of my life as a brownie in a pack on that base!
US Councils
I don't mind trading for US councils if you want, but I'm not trying to complete a collection.
International
I find UK Standards so beautiful! I've decided therefore to add UK Standards to my collection. (Only the standards, not the county silks.) Like with the Canadian A/D/D patches, I only have a small fraction of the total set of standards out there, so if you would like to trade, I'm sure we can arrange something.
I have a (small) few merit badges and patches from the UK, Australia, NZ, and Hong Kong. I am open to pretty well anything! As I said, the collection is quite small so if you'd like to trade, it shouldn't be difficult to find something I don't already have. :-)
Non-Guiding
Many of these swimming ones were prerequisites or equivalents of certain badges, particularly swimming, lifesaving,
and canoeing. When I put together my badges album I think it would be cool to have these in there as well. The figure
skating ones are for pure nostalgia. :-)
- Canadian Red Cross Swimming
- Older "Junior", "Intermediate", and "Senior" badges (round)
- Royal Life Saving Society of Canada
- Elementary (older)
- Intermediate (older)
- Canadian Figure Skating Association
- They're all this shape. They're
also all extinct because the CFSA is now Skate Canada and has completely changed their badge system. I need:
- Pre-Beginner (black embroidery on light blue background)
- Novice III (brown embroidery on orange background)
- Novice IV (blue embroidery on light blue background)
- Proficiency (yellow on red? orange on red? red on orange? Can't quite remember!)
- Anything from beyond CanSkate (e.g., Dance, Figures, Freeskate...)
Want to trade? I'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to email me!
